  • ASCII 배너 — A–Z·0–9 자체 글자판.

GlyPop guide

How to get styled text into an Instagram bio or a nickname, examples you can copy straight off this page, and the limits that come with doing this in Unicode rather than with a font.

1. Three steps

  1. Type your words in the Your text box on the GlyPop home screen. Every card below updates as you type.
  2. Press Copy on the card you like. One card is one style.
  3. Open the app you are pasting into, long-press the field and choose Paste (Ctrl+V on a PC, ⌘+V on a Mac).

If the browser blocks clipboard access, a manual copy box opens instead. The text in it is already selected, so Ctrl+C (⌘+C) gives you exactly the same result.

2. Putting it in an Instagram bio

  1. Build and copy the line in GlyPop.
  2. In the Instagram app, open your profile and tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap the Bio field, paste, and save. Button wording changes between app versions.

Here is a one-line bio in three styles. You can select and copy these directly.

Originaldaily notes 2026

Sans-serif bold𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Small capsᴅᴀɪʟʏ ɴᴏᴛᴇꜱ 2026

Italic𝑑𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑛𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑠 2026

Small caps and italic leave digits alone: Unicode has no digits in those shapes, so 2026 stays as it is. That is not a bug. Bold, sans-serif, monospace, double-struck and fullwidth do convert digits.

A bio has a length limit. Check yours in the Text tools tab before you paste. Styled text counts differently depending on who is counting: Rora is four characters, and the bold form 𝐑𝐨𝐫𝐚 is four visible characters but eight stored code units. Where a limit is counted in code units, you get about half the room you are used to.

If your line breaks disappear after saving, the app you pasted into does not accept them in that field. Separating parts with a symbol (say · | ·) reads much the same on one line.

3. Nicknames and name fields - real examples

The name Rora through four styles:

Bold𝐑𝐨𝐫𝐚

Sans-serif bold𝗥𝗼𝗿𝗮

Small capsRᴏʀᴀ

Double-struckℝ𝕠𝕣𝕒

In Fancy text, Korean and every other non-Latin script keeps its own characters (see section 7). To change the mood without changing the letters, wrap the line in the Korean decorating tab.

Title bracket【

Soft bracket꒰

Mixed lines are fine. Latin letters and digits convert; everything else is passed through untouched.

Bold, Hangul untouched

Some apps reject special characters in name fields altogether. If saving fails, try another style or style less of the name. Handles (the @name address) usually accept only Latin letters, digits, underscores and dots.

Character styles and composed styles - what the badge means

Next to the compatibility badge, every style card carries either Character style or Composed style. The two are made in completely different ways.

  • A character style swaps one character for one genuinely different Unicode character. Bold, script and circled are in Unicode as their own letterforms.
  • A composed style is not a new letterform at all. It is your own letters with a combining mark (a line, a ring) attached, with spaces or a separator inserted, or with the order or the case changed.

Character style - bold𝐆𝐥𝐲𝐏𝐨𝐩

Character style - Greek lookalikeΓλψΡορ

Composed style - double underlineG̳l̳y̳P̳o̳p̳

Composed style - letter spacedG l y P o p

More styles does not mean more font files. The complete Latin alphabets Unicode actually assigned - the Mathematical Alphanumeric block, the enclosed alphabets, fullwidth, small capitals, superscript and subscript - are all in the list already; everything past them is composed here. The line above the grid always says how many of each there are, counted from the list itself.

A lookalike style (Greek, Cyrillic, Runic) uses different letters that merely look similar. Screen readers and search will not read them as the Latin alphabet, so they are a poor choice where a name has to be searchable. The spacing and order styles make the line longer, so check the length in Text tools before pasting into a field with a character limit.

4. Korean decorating - wrappers and transforms

The Korean decorating tab holds two different things. A wrapper only adds symbols around each line and never touches your characters (badged Text unchanged). A Korean transform rewrites the Hangul itself, by initial, by jamo or by syllable (badged Text changed). The chips filter by hearts & flowers, stars & sparkle, brackets & frames, lines & arrows, shapes & ornaments, cute, minimal, gaming, birthdays, and Korean transforms. Everything in the chosen category is laid out at once - there is nothing to press for more, and the number beside the chips is what is on the page.

Wrappers - your text is untouched

Star burst✧

Multi-line text is wrapped one line at a time, and a blank line stays blank.

Build your own - write the two ends yourself

Further down the same tab is Build your own. Instead of picking a wrapper from the list you write what goes before and after each line yourself, and if you want, a mark to put between the letters and a border above and below. The result is previewed underneath and copied from there.

★ before, ★ after★ 한글 꾸미기 ★

· between letters한·글 꾸·미·기

✿ ends, thin rule border───────────── ✿ 한글 꾸미기 ✿ ─────────────

The separator is only put between visible characters. It is never added across a space or a line break, and a character built from several code points - an emoji, a Hangul syllable - is never split. A blank line stays blank and nothing is truncated.

What you write here is not stored. The two ends and the separator live in this browser's memory only, are never sent anywhere, and cannot be starred (☆): favorites keep only which item you picked, and a line you wrote yourself has no item id. A reload empties the boxes.

Korean transforms - the characters change

The same input, 한글 꾸미기 ("decorating Hangul"), through each transform:

Initials onlyㅎㄱ ㄲㅁㄱ

Compound vowels (ㅘ ㅙ ㅚ ㅝ ㅞ ㅟ ㅢ), compound finals (ㄳ ㄵ ㄶ ㄺ ㄻ ㄼ ㄽ ㄾ ㄿ ㅀ ㅄ) and tense consonants (ㄲ ㄸ ㅃ ㅆ ㅉ) stay whole in "Split into jamo" and come apart only in "Split into single letters". Here is 값이 왜 짧다 through both:

Split into jamo

Split into single letters

A transform only touches Hangul syllables. Latin, digits and emoji pass straight through - the initials of 안녕 Hi 2026 are ㅇㄴ Hi 2026. No separator is placed across a space or a line break, so the shape of your paragraph survives, and jamo you typed on their own (ㅋㅋ) are left alone.

Initials and jamo splitting make a word hard to recognise, and a screen reader announces each jamo separately. Keep them to a short run rather than a whole name.

5. Text kits - multi-line layouts and the nickname mixer

Text kits works at a different scale from the two screens before it. They decorate one line; this tab drops a whole block of lines into a layout you can copy straight out. There are 21 profile blocks, 20 message cards, 15 lists and notices, 11 celebration cards and 21 dividers, plus the nickname mixer.

A layout never rewrites what you typed. It adds lines around your text, a marker at the head or the tail of a line, or a single rule between two lines, so your spacing and your line order survive and nothing is cut. A blank line stays blank. Some layouts change the marker with where a line sits - first, last, odd or even, indented - and even then only the added marks differ; your own characters do not. There is deliberately no fixed-width box art - a frame whose right edge has to line up comes apart as soon as a Korean line is longer than the artwork - so the layouts use rules, a left-hand rail and head markers, which stay correct at any line length.

Profile - a bio as one block

Dividers - the one kit that needs no input

A divider is finished with an empty box: you get the pattern on its own. Type one line and it sits between the two halves of the pattern. Type several and they are kept, in order, under the pattern. In none of the three cases is any of your text dropped.

Nickname mixer - one style plus one decoration

The nickname mixer at the top of the same tab is the single-line half. It combines the 70 styles from Fancy text (or "As typed") with the 136 decorations from Korean decorating. Nothing new is invented; two existing catalogues are combined. Letter styles preserve Hangul. Upside down, mirror writing and reversed order reverse the character order on each line; the lines-and-rings styles also mark Hangul; the spacing styles make the line longer. Preview before copying.

The six ready-made combinations change only the two selects; your text is left alone. "Next combination" steps through the decorations and moves the style on by one after a full round - a tour of the catalogue in order rather than a shuffle, and the two selects always show where you are.

6. Symbols - themed sets and the board

Symbols holds two lists. Basic symbols are single characters grouped the way Unicode groups them - arrows, maths, currency. Themed symbol sets are grouped by what you would use them for instead: hearts, café, study, frames. Most entries on the themed side are not one character but a short combination such as 。

Hearts♡ ♥ ♡ 。 °♡ ───♡───

Ribbons≻──≺ ⊰⋈⊱ ≫ ⋈ ≪ ╰⋈╯

Frames╭─╮ / ╰─╯ ┏━┓ / ┗━┛

A theme is a group chosen by hand, which is a different thing from a Unicode block. No string is repeated in two themes to make a number bigger, and every count on the screen is read from the list itself. The sets that contain colour emoji - birthday, café, travel - say so where you can see it, because a colour emoji is drawn by your device and looks a little different on each one.

Several at once - the board

For a single symbol, tapping copies it, and that has not changed - it is still the default. To join several together, switch the row at the top of the screen to «Tap to add to the board». From then on each symbol you press lands at the end of the board box.

  • The board box is editable by hand. Type into it, or delete out of it.
  • Remove the last character takes away one visible character. Something built from several code points, like 👩‍👩‍👧, goes in one press instead of being torn in half.
  • Clear the board comes with one level of undo, so clearing it by accident costs nothing.
  • When it looks right, press Copy the board to take the whole line at once.

What lands on the board stays in this browser. It is not stored, not sent anywhere, and never put in the address bar. A reload clears it. Starring (☆) saves only which themed entry you picked, never a line you wrote on the board - see section 10.

7. What Unicode cannot do

This is not a font

GlyPop does not give out or install font files. A bold-looking A is a separate character that already exists in Unicode (𝐀, U+1D400); GlyPop swaps your A for it and copies that. Nothing to install anywhere you paste, and for the same reason a device whose fonts lack that character draws a box (□). The text is not lost, it just cannot be drawn - copy it from that device and the original character travels with it.

There is no bold or handwritten Hangul

Unicode has no bold or handwritten Hangul letters to swap in, so Fancy text leaves Korean exactly as typed. Faking it with lookalike characters would break reading and search, so we do not. The Korean transforms in section 4 are a different thing: they invent nothing, they use the initial / jamo / syllable structure Hangul really has, so every character they produce is ordinary Hangul. Strikethrough and underline are the exception: they attach a combining mark, which lands on Hangul and emoji too.

Grapheme clusters and counting

What looks like one character is often several pieces. A family emoji is a chain of characters, and a struck-through R̶ is an R plus a combining line. GlyPop shows a separate visible characters count based on those clusters, and the 500-character input limit never cuts a cluster in half, so an emoji at the boundary cannot be mangled.

Some letters stay as they are

Where Unicode has no character for a shape, the original letter is kept. Superscript has no capitals and no q, so "Quiet q" becomes Qᵘⁱᵉᵗ q. The alternative would be an unassigned code point, which renders as an empty box.

Search, sorting and autocomplete

Styled letters are different characters. Style a whole name and a plain search for it may not find you; mentions, tags and alphabetical sorting behave differently too.

8. Accessibility - some people hear this

A screen reader may announce a styled letter by its Unicode name ("mathematical bold capital A") or skip it. A row of decorative symbols gets read one symbol at a time, which turns into noise. This keeps most of the look:

  • Style one or two words rather than a whole name.
  • Leave anything that has to be read - contact details, explanations - in plain characters.
  • Do not repeat the same ornament at length (one ✦ on each side, not ✦✦✦✦✦).
  • Keep strikethrough and underline to short runs instead of full sentences.
  • Spaced syllables, initials and jamo splitting break search and reading aloud - keep them short.
  • A kit layout only adds a line or two, which is mild; stacking several dividers in a row is not.

9. Making it less likely to break

  • Start with styles badged "Shows almost everywhere".
  • For anything that matters, check it on the screen where it will appear before saving. Devices differ.
  • Do not mix several styles in one line; one style per line makes a broken glyph easy to trace.
  • Star (☆) the styles you reuse - see section 10 below.

10. Favorites (☆) - what actually gets saved

Tapping ☆ on a card or a symbol collects it in the Favorites box at the top of that tab. Four kinds of thing can be starred:

  • Fancy text - any of the 70 styles.
  • Korean decorating - all 144 entries: 136 wrappers and 8 Korean transforms. A line written in "Build your own" has no item id, so it cannot be collected here.
  • Text kits - any of the 88 multi-line layouts.
  • The nickname mixer - the style + decoration pair you have chosen.
  • Symbols - switch the row to "Tap to favorite" and press what you want to keep. Basic symbols and themed symbols are two separate lists, cleared separately.

Only which item you picked is saved. Your text is not saved. The preview inside the favorites box is rebuilt from whatever is in the input box at that moment, so changing your text changes the favorites previews with it.

Favorites stay in this browser only. They are never sent to a server, they do not sync to another device or browser, and clearing your browser's site data removes them. No account is needed. Clearing works per group: "Clear symbols" empties the symbol favorites and leaves your styles, decorations, kit layouts and nickname pairs alone. Un-starring a single item never asks first.

Where storage is blocked - a private window, for instance - favorites work for that tab only and are gone after a reload. The favorites box says so when that happens.

11. Straight to a tool

Arriving with nothing in the address opens All tools first: every tool grouped under a heading - fonts and text, symbols and faces, art, useful tools and play - and every card leads with a real sample of what that tool makes, so you can pick one by looking rather than by guessing from a name. Any address you already had - ?tool=fancy and the rest - still opens that tool directly.

  • Fancy text - Latin letters and digits in 70 Unicode styles (35 character styles + 35 composed styles).
  • Korean decorating - 136 wrappers that leave your text alone, 8 initial / jamo / syllable transforms, and a builder for your own two ends.
  • Text kits - 88 multi-line layouts (21 profile, 20 message cards, 15 lists, 11 celebrations, 21 dividers) and the nickname mixer.
  • Symbols - 209 basic symbols plus 16 themed sets (208 distinct entries), found by name and tapped to copy; collect several on the board.
  • Face builder - pick an outline, eyes and a mouth.
  • Text tools - characters, UTF-8 bytes, UTF-16 units, chunks and lines in a long piece of text, space and blank-line cleanup, and a length goal you set yourself.

Three of them also have an address of their own. The screen is narrower, but you can type, search and copy right there, and a ☆ goes to the same place as it does in the full tool. They are the ones to send someone a link to.

12. The workshop tools

Tap a name and that tool opens on a screen of its own, one at a time. «← All tools» takes you back to the list, and your starred and recent tools are still there.

  • Text effects - twelve combining marks (overline, double underline, slash overlay) and five ways to space letters out.
  • Scary text - marks stacked up to a fixed ceiling. The same text and number always give the same shape.
  • Korean lookalikes - three playful swaps: lookalike jamo, half-width jamo, circled Hangul. Not a translation.
  • Big text & emoji text - your text drawn in the browser and read back as a braille, block or emoji grid. Korean works.
  • ASCII banner - a hand-drawn A-Z and 0-9 letter set. Anything it cannot draw is kept, not dropped.
  • Full-width / half-width - only ASCII and the space have partners, and the screen says so.
  • Japanese kana - opens on 20 kana turned into ornamental shapes that lean the same way (ト to ⊢); every other kana is left as typed. The Latin-to-kana board stays as an optional tab, alongside the kana keyboard, romaji respelled as kana and the half-width forms.
  • Emoji & symbol catalogue - emoji plus 57 Unicode blocks, paged, with code points, searchable by name.
  • Emoji finder - emoji only, browsed by group and subgroup or found by name. Skin-tone variants fold away.
  • Egyptian hieroglyphs - find a sign by group, sign code (G17) or code range and build a line from it.
  • Emoticon library - finished text faces sorted by mood.
  • Unicode explorer - open a code or a range, and take pasted text apart code point by code point.
  • Jamo picture keyboard - press a jamo key and a picture goes in. Not a Korean font, and it never changes Korean you already typed.
  • Symbol extractor - pull the symbols and emoji out of a block of text, counted.
  • ASCII art gallery - 168 drawings made for GlyPop, searchable by name in either language. They line up in a monospace font.
  • Emoji pictures - 77 small colour drawings made of emoji. Recolour each part and copy the result.
  • Photo to dot art - a picture turned into braille or block characters.
  • Dot editor - draw on a 16x16 grid and export it as braille or blocks.
  • ASCII calendar - any month, either first weekday, a marked date, leap years included.
  • Morse code - both directions. Korean is kept where it stands rather than dropped.
  • Secret text - Base64, Caesar and reversal. Fun encoding, not encryption.
  • Line break formatter - tidy the gaps, or fill them for apps that swallow empty lines.
  • Hashtag builder - your words turned into tags, de-duplicated.
  • Themed snippet sets - twenty-six situations (gaming nickname, bio, birthday, daily journal, reading notes, thank-you notes, film notes, recipes, exhibitions, invitations, habits, giveaways, house plants and more), eight lines each, with your own name in them.
  • Reaction comments - congratulation and cheer lines you can edit before copying.
  • Emoji quiz - sixteen questions written for GlyPop. The score lives on the screen only.
  • Emoji fortune - a repeatable for-fun result from a word. Not a prediction.

Your pictures do not go anywhere

One tool takes a picture: Photo to dot art. The file is opened by the browser inside this tab, read for how bright each part of it is, and turned into characters. It is never uploaded and never stored. Moving the brightness slider has to read it again, so while that screen is open the picture sits in the tab's memory; leaving the screen, or pressing «Let go of the picture», clears it. Files over 8MB, and anything that is not an image, are refused before they are read at all, and a file that decodes to an enormous picture is refused too.

13. Text tools - what each number counts

Text tools has an editor of its own. The Your text box on the home screen takes 500 characters because dozens of cards re-draw from it as you type; this screen only counts, so it takes up to 20,000 characters pasted in one go. Walking to another tool and back, or switching between 한국어 and English, leaves that text exactly as it is - nothing is shortened behind your back. What you paste stays in this browser tab: it is never put in the address, in storage, or on a server.

  • Visible characters - one character as a reader sees it. A joined emoji like 👩‍👩‍👧 counts once, and so does a Hangul syllable built from jamo.
  • Characters (with / without spaces) - Unicode code points, so a combining mark counts on its own ("é" written as e plus an accent is 2). "Without spaces" drops the space, the tab, every line break and the Unicode spaces (no-break space U+00A0, ideographic space U+3000 and the rest).
  • Bytes (UTF-8) - 1 byte for an ASCII letter or digit ("A"), 3 for a Hangul syllable ("가"), 4 for "😀", 2 for an accent mark such as U+0301 and 3 for a zero-width joiner. Not every combining mark costs 3, and an emoji built from several pieces is the sum of them (👩‍👩‍👧 = 4+3+4+3+4 = 18 bytes). This is the number a field with a byte limit is counting when it measures UTF-8; a field that counts in another encoding can land on a different number.
  • UTF-16 units - the length JavaScript reports. Anything above U+FFFF (most emoji, the styled Latin letters) is 2 units each.
  • Chunks (split on spaces) - runs of characters between spaces, 어절 (eojeol) in Korean. It is not a linguistic word count.
  • Lines - lines separated by line breaks. A break counts as one LF character (1 byte); a text box hands the page LF even when CRLF was pasted into it, and empty text has no lines.

The five cleanups (Trim line ends, Collapse repeated spaces, Collapse blank lines, Remove blank lines, Line breaks to spaces) change your text only when you press one. Nothing is trimmed or normalised on its own, and a no-break space (U+00A0) or an emoji is left exactly as it is. Undo puts back the text as it stood a moment before, character for character.

The length goal is yours to set: pick a number and the unit to count it in (visible characters, code points, UTF-16 units or UTF-8 bytes) and the used, remaining and over figures follow as you type. Going over never cuts anything, and the goal itself is not saved. Apps count in different units, so check the limit the app itself states - GlyPop does not assert a limit for anybody's field.
